In the Early Colonial Days, before Australia had it's own currency, the Settlers traded with the following Currencies :

The Early Coins:

British Guinea (one pound and two shillings)
Portuguese Johanna (four pounds) 

Portuguese Half Johanna (two pounds)

Indian Gold Mohur (one pound, seventeen shillings and sixpence)
Spanish Dollar (five shillings)
Italian Ducat (nine shillings and six pence)
Indian Rupee (two shillings and six pence)
Indian Pagoda (eight shillings)
Dutch Guilder (two shillings)
British Shilling (one shilling and one penny)
British Copper Coin (two pence)

These coins will always be extremely collectable......
